A sunshine coastline
of golden sands backed by cooling pine forests and pretty offshore
islands give this area of Tuscany a unique appeal. The massive
Tuscan hills form the backdrop to the wild natural splendour of the Maremma National Park, complete with wild boar, horses, deer and a
host of other wildlife. Camping Le Marze is a relaxing resort
situated amongst a cooling natural forest of parasol pines and
singing cicadas. Our spacious mobile home and tent pitches are
located together. Just over the road from the campsite entrance a
pleasant forest path leads down to the beautiful beach. There is
safe bathing for all ages, as the sands slope gently into the
crystal clear, blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The beach bar is
on hand to provide a welcome drink in the heat of the day or an
aperitif before returning to the campsite where there is a good
restaurant. The modern holiday resort of Marina di Grosseto and the
old port of Castiglione della Pescaia (with its castle and fortified
harbour) are only a few miles away. The important Etruscan towns of
Roselle and Vetulonia nestle in the nearby hills and Siena (setting
for many festivals) is 1 hour’s drive away.
