South from
Bordeaux to the Spanish border stretch the vast, golden surfing
beaches of the South Atlantic coast. Set amongst the pine forest of
Les Landes, Camping Le Vieux Port is a complete holiday resort with
an exceptional array of first class facilities. The superb swimming
pool and chute complex is the main focal point and there are many
excellent sporting activities and an exciting adventure playground.
There is good daytime and evening entertainment with a regular
outdoor disco in high season. Shopping is excellent with numerous
boutiques and stalls and a well-stocked supermarket. The sandy
pitches are protected from the sun by tall pine trees. The
beach (which has a strong surf) is 400 yards from the campsite – a
pleasant walk through the dunes or, in high season, take the
campsite train which circulates between the beach and camping areas.
About 1 mile from the campsite you can pick up the forest cycle path
that links many of the pretty market towns like Messanges, Azur and
Vieux Boucau. The Pyrénées are an hour to the south with exciting
sporting possibilities or why not cross over the border into Spain
itself?
