The Charente Maritime is an ideal region to visit if you are looking for sightseeing and sports activity alongside some beach relaxation. Camping L’Orée du Bois has a friendly “club-like” atmosphere and is located in the heart of a forest near to a variety of beaches. To the west is the ‘Côte Sauvage’, popular for body boarding and to the south there are the sheltered beaches of La Palmyre, St Palais and Royan. The campsite has an excellent pool complex with water slides and a lazy river. For added excitement try the thrilling tree walking course next door. In July and August the campsite organises sports activities as well as other daytime events. The evening entertainment includes a disco twice a week and takes place in the outdoor arena near the newly refurbished bar/restaurant. Our tents and mobile homes are dotted around the wooded camping areas with easy access to the central facilities. With 40 miles of good cycle paths winding through the forest and along the coast, a bike is the obvious mode of transport to explore this region. The oyster beds of the Marennes, the scenic islands of Ré and Oléron, the historic port of La Rochelle and the distilleries in Cognac are examples of varied sightseeing possibilities.

2012 PRICES

Prices in £ to include 2 adults and up to 4 children (under 21).

Arrive and Depart on any day. Minimum stay 3 nights.

3-night prices include a mid-week saver return fare Dover-Calais with P&O Ferries. All other crossings will be supplemented (click here for our Travel Guide). Deduct £50 if you don’t require a Channel crossing.

Extra nights will be charged from night 4.

Extra persons £8 per person per night, where permitted.
