The north
coast of Brittany is a region of rocky headlands, clear water, sandy
beaches and tiny offshore islands. Situated in natural woodland,
overlooking the bay of Morlaix, Les Mouettes is a well-run campsite
with a very pleasant atmosphere. The owners strongly believe in
service to the customer and many of the sporting facilities are
free, including short tennis and table tennis. The main
attraction is the magnificent pool complex, complete with 3 high
water chutes, lazy river, whirlpool and sauna. The impressive new
indoor pool area will be ready for the 2010 high season and will
incorporate a lazy river and a whirlpool. Once a week during high
season, the pools are open at night so you can brave the water
chutes in the moonlight! The nearest
swimming beaches to the campsite are the Plage du Kélenn and the
Plage du Clouët, just 2 miles away. As an exciting alternative, at
low tide, go across to ‘Ile de Callot’, which has beautiful sandy
beaches. Just 9 miles from the port of Roscoff, Carantec is a
charming seaside resort with distinctive Breton stone buildings, a
16th century maritime fortress and some superb
restaurants.
